SHAME is a collaborative musical "vision" brought to you by two unabashedly sad, pathetically disconsolate dudes in the underground electronic music scene, known as Foamek and shampoo respectively. The project name comes, aptly, from each of their relationships with shame itself; a tendency to ruminate on things as inconsequential as a plastic bag whirling around in a gust of wind, or perhaps that one time they were sad all day because a stranger didn't smile back.
Their music is transparently vying for your emotional investment. Your return on said investment being something like a lonely canoe-ride down a river in the middle of nowhere, inside a dream you can't escape, cursed in perpetuity to confront, with vivid detail, every mistake you've ever made- floating away from any and all companionship, onward to an unforgiving purgatory of existential anguish.
The project was born when shampoo sent a DM to Foamek asking for "some sad arpeggios to fuck with, maybe some percussion and shit." shampoo flipped the melodies and percussion into something so beautiful that it made Foamek angry. After adding a few finishing touches like reverb-drenched vocals, light top percussion and the interminably haunting bassline, Foamek professionally mastered the final mix by turning the gain knob up really far.
